Benefits
There are many benefits of non-medical home care services depending on your loved one's needs. We provide assistance with daily activities, socialization, companionship, and perform light housekeeping too.
Safety for Your Loved One
Safety is the biggest priority when it comes to caring for a loved one. Cognitive challenges especially can also impair balance, vision, attention, and understanding.
- The risk of falling is already a leading cause of injury for the elderly, and the risk is increased even more for those with memory difficulties.
- Wandering is another concern. There have been many incidents of seniors who open the door to their homes and leave, only to wander around the neighborhood and forget their way back home or where they are. Many of these loved ones end up missing for extended periods of time.

Those with memory difficulties are
3x
more likely to suffer from hip fractures from a fall.
It's been reported that
3 out of every 5
people with memory challenges will wander, and 1 out of every 6 patients goes missing.
Continued supervision at the home is one of the best ways to reduce the chances of these events from happening.
Even outside of falling and wandering, there are many other possible instances that can result in injury or other problems. Other examples include:
- Leaving the stove on and forgetting to turn it off
- Forgetting to eat meals or drink fluids
- Misuse of kitchen knives, utensils, or other potentially dangerous objects
- Side effects from medication that can cause worry, paranoia, and delirium
Our team provides constant supervision for your loved one to ensure that they are in good hands, and that you’ve got peace of mind while you are away.
Socialization & Companionship
Addressing physical needs is not the only role of providing care. Feelings of loneliness are very common among the elderly, especially those afflicted with memory difficulties, which in turn can lead to further isolation.

Things to Know
- Multiple studies have shown that loneliness has an increased risk of cognitive decline. Feelings of loneliness in individuals over 60 years can be as high as 43%
- 40% of seniors with memory challenges experience depression. Those with depression suffer from a more rapid decline in thinking and memory skills
- Social Isolation is linked to a 50% increased risk of dementia, in addition to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke
Proper Care
Can Go a Long Way
- Regular social interaction can improve symptoms and slow the progression of cognitive difficulties.
- Companionship and regular socialization can help limit high levels of loneliness and depression. While these conditions do have big effects on loved ones, they do not remove the need for social interaction and engagement.
- Companionship in the form of home care can greatly help contribute to your loved one’s mental/emotional needs, and is an invaluable tool at fighting off loneliness and depression.

Having someone available around the clock can also assist with other common needs, such as feeding challenges, mobility assistance, being awake all night, and other tasks
